At Pongo Island, close to Kribi, Cameroon, this small association founded by Patricia Leschaeve, rescues young orphan chimpanzees. Bambou, Mangue, Boby, Tony, Café, Wengue, Citron, Samba and the others are now semi-free ranging on the Island, but need funding to cover food and care for the chimps, the wages for the keepers and the purchase of equipment. Also, there are still many young chimps that need rescuing but stay on the other side of the river because the association has not enough funding to look after them.
